Subtle Audio presents the “2nd Rate” Album Launch Party

As you may know Polska’s “2nd Rate” Album is out on Subtle Audio early in May.

Polska is a producer based in Dublin who has had releases on labels like Bassbin, Inperspective, Counter Intelligence, Kin and, of course, Subtle Audio. His debut album “Skeptic” was released in 2006 on Canadian label Make:Shift and showed the range of his unique style, incorporating ambient and jazz alongside his obvious love for jungle rhythms as well as downtempo beats.

The new album is spread over 2 CD’s and 20 tracks.
CD 1 will feature the D&B style and CD2 will have a selection of downtempo works.

There will also be a 12″ Vinyl release, featuring 2 extra tracks not available on the CD – “Setplace” and also “Outvert”, remixed by Equinox of Scientific Wax / Metalheadz / Bassbin / Inperspective fame. The title track “2nd Rate” will be on the Vinyl aswell as the CD
To celebrate the 2xCD and 12″ Vinyl release there will be two album launch gigs :

Saturday May 8th @ The Underground, Westland Row, Dublin (in association with Spectrum)

It will be myself and Polska representing the Subtle Audio sounds on both nights and we’ll be joined in Dublin by none other than 0=0 !!!
This will be the Irish debut for his Live PA set, which involves a self constructed Reactor patch which he manipulates live using joysticks / controllers. Of course, anyone who knows 0=0′s work will know he brings the beats ! But there’ll be a fair bit of variety in the set to include more ‘subtle’ moments too

Spectrum’s Donny Wong and Reach resident / Radio Na Life host, Executive Steve will also be joining us on the night, so it’s a VERY full line-up !!

Polska’s CD & Vinyl release will be available at the launch parties, so there’s another good reason to get on down for them !

Code’s trying to work out some kinda special price for IDNBers who want to go to the gig and buy the album… so if you come along you’ll get a good discount on the 2xCD

Big thanks to Nick Fury and the Spectrum crew for helping us get a date sorted for this !

Oh … and last thing to mention, Code be bringing along his sound system to back up the rig in the Underground – so they’re leaving nothing to chance
