irishdrumandbass dot com is the work of two fellas. Beckett and Skeletor.

The site has been running since 1999 serving the drum and bass community of ireland. At times the site has been a lean mean fighting machine, at others a hulking beast kicking and screaming on it’s death bed.

But it did not die. Oh No. Through sheer masochism Beckett and Skeletor have struggled on over the years, and have somehow made the site keep on going.

It’s brought them some good times, plenty of laughs, tonnes of friends, and possibly some enemies. Most noteably The Risky from the banana-arena when they kept stealing their content way back at the start of the millenium. At one point the site flirted with dogsonacid to provide content to them! The lads thought better of it, as it would probably involve some work. Ha! Showed those fuckers what’s what eh?

As well as the online japes, the site has played it’s small part in the continuing blossoming of drum and bass in Ireland, and saw the birth of many a club night, the debut of many a DJ, the rise and rise of many a label, and the bullshit of many an inter-crew bitchfest.

All of it has been done of their own backs, not a penny have they made (apart from when Skeletor set up google ads and pocketed the amazing double figure of dollars they made), and a fortune they have spent, and they’ve done most of it arseways. Long may it continue. (In hopefully a more reliable and professional fashion)
