Morphy is a drum and bass producer hailing from Glasgow. With his unique, dub heavy take on the d&b tempo, Morphy’s productions have garnered support from djs such as 1 Xtra’s Bailey, Raiden, D Bridge, Loxy and Digital to name but a few, leading to his music being released on labels like Exit Records, Function, Voodoo music, Cylon, Alphacut and Nerve.

Admission is £6, doors open at 9.30.

Morphy’s music in 2011 is a melting pot of tribal percussion, half time rhyth…ms, sonic echos and weighty dubwise basslines, an earthy analog sound that reflects his love of both dub music and jungle. Having previously held a residency as a dj at Xplicit, Edinburgh’s premier drum and bass night, Morphy has since turned his interests to the development of a live set to enable him to perform live “versioning” of his recent productions while throwing in a few surprises along the way.

Morphy will be performing his live set at The Menagerie. Joining him on the night is Bad Operator, resident of Bangor electronic night Crilli, Belfasts own jungle master Undadog, and Trip Hazard will be laying down some lovely dubbly vibes at the start of the night.

Soul Intent aka Alex Judd has been DJ’ing since he was 15. On first hearing a DJ Randall mix whilst at school Alex knew he wanted to become a DJ and take clubbers on musical journeys. In 2005 Soul Intent set up Brutal Recordings with a few other Nottingham based DJ’s and producers under the name Dataset.

Spectrum DJ’s and FLUSH DJ’s will be on support duties.

Sublime Beats Collective in Cork will have Jubei (Metalheadz, Shogun Audio, etc) in The Liquid Lounge on Marlborough St. in Cork on the 26th. One of the best DJ/Producers out there at the minute you don’t want to miss this (Having already heard him play in Dublin I really mean it).

Support on the night comes from Mike Fate & Freekativ with fpVisuals putting on a bit of a light show . In the Rave room you’ve got Dubstep Invasion live by Drokkr (Badman Press records).

The night kicks off at 10pm and it’s €8 at the door before 11pm, 10 euros after.
