Also support on the night from Fraher,Gookie,Dessie Dekka,MofoHobo and of course Hertz-U Spectrum Residents. Things kick off at 10pm and it’s €12 / €10 members on the night.

Biography of YOUNGSTA

Without doubt one of the finest DJs in dubstep, Youngsta’s flawless mixing and deadly accurate selection place him at the forefront of this evolving scene. Representing flagship label Tempa and Rinse FM, his weekly radio show has become an institution and his live sets continue to raise the bar for quality and innovation. At the age of just 26, Youngsta is already a dubstep veteran with a reputation built on long-running residencies for Rinse and FWD>> and is widely regarded as one of the most influential DJs in the scene. His passion for the music comes across in the care and attention to detail he puts into every single set and can clearly be heard in recent productions, alongside the likes of Seven, N-Type and Kryptic Minds.

Introduced to underground music at an early age, Youngsta began DJing regularly on London pirate Freek FM at 13 playing a mix of bass-heavy 2-step garage. Naturally drawn to the more experimental sounds within the genre, Youngsta was offered the chance to make his name in 2001 with a residency at a new clubnight started by his sister Sarah and business partner Neil Joliffe. Stepping up alongside the likes of Hatcha, Benny Ill, Jay Da Flex and Zed Bias, Youngsta’s reputation grew quickly thanks to dynamic sets and immaculate mixing. As the dark swing and nervous shuffle characterised by Horsepower, El-B and Oris Jay gave way to a heavier dubbed-out aesthetic within the dubstep scene, Youngsta was at the helm creating a cavernous and spacious mix with fresh sounds from the likes of Skream, Mala, Loefah and D1. His sets at FWD>> and the early DMZ nights showcased the sound of this new wave of producers and would place him firmly at the forefront as the scene’s leading DJ, helping these breakthrough artists and their sound gain further exposure.

Youngsta was asked to present the Dubstep Allstars 2 CD for Tempa in 2005, following Hatcha’s first instalment in the ground-breaking series. Built around exclusive dubplates created for only a handful of DJs, the compilation reflects Youngsta’s skills both in crafting a mix as well as selecting a sound. It’s no surprise he now represents Tempa as A&R and has helped bring attention to the likes of D1, Headhunter, SP:MC and Seven plus others on the label.

Although he’s not yet known as a producer, Youngsta’s had a strong influence on the progression of the sound known as dubstep so far. Having cut his teeth with a VIP remix of Loefah’s “Twisup” in 2005, Youngsta has preferred to focus on DJing before rushing into production himself. More recently, he’s linked with Seven and N-Type in the studio and is looking forward to working with the likes of Icicle and SP:MC in the near future.

In addition to working as dubstep buyer for legendary London record store, BM Soho (formerly Blackmarket Records), Youngsta also maintains a weekly radio show on Rinse FM. With his focus clearly on the music, he regularly features guest MCs including former host Task and more recently Toast and SP:MC. In 2008, Youngsta teamed up with station boss Geeneus to mix and compile the “I Love Dubstep” double CD, highlighting the instrumental role of Rinse FM in some of the scene’s finest moments to date.

Youngsta has also represented at DMZ in London and appeared regularly at the biggest events, including the “Why Not?” dubstep festival, FWD>> vs. Rinse FM clashes and Exodus in Leeds. As well as frequent visits to Los Angeles and other US cities including San Francisco and New York, Youngsta has touched down in Canada, Japan and Israel and has been playing regularly across Europe since the age of 15. This summer sees Youngsta among the headliners at the Exodus international dubstep festival in Croatia as he continues to spread his wings and take his sound worldwide.

Biography of MARK SYSTEM

With well over a decade of professional contribution to the music industry, Mark System is a recording artist for Shy FX’s “Digital Soundboy Recording Company”. He is a former promoter and co-founder of award winning events in London and regularly performs across the World. In addition, he’s a valued producer having written “Near Miss” – hailed as one of the most popular Drum ‘n’ Bass tunes in the last few years. New production work includes his remix of Magnetic Man’s top 10 single “I Need Air” (co-produced by Shy FX) and remix work for Rob Da Bank and Tom Middleton. A recent decision to officially adjoin DJing to his artistry has completed a loop in System’s musicianship.

As an MC, pure versatility has earned him regular performances in many very high profile international locations. Shows at Gate Crasher, Fabric Live, Hospitality, Metalheadz, Renegade Hardware, SteppinSession (Russia) and Intrigue are all testament to his abilities.
A range of radio stations including BBC Radio 1 & 1Xtra, Ministry Of Sound, Rinse FM and Pyro Radio have featured him as a guest and performer as have D&BTV. System made appearances on the popular 7 part ITV series ‘Joy Of Decks’ reaching a worldwide audience. He has compered at many large non Drum ‘n’ Bass events like festivals, university balls and live music concerts.
DJ performances have placed him in exclusive settings ranging from Selfridges to Bungalow 8 and as far from his London home as Moscow and Ekaterinburg.

Mark is an accomplished composer and multi-instrumentalist with releases on Digital Soundboy, Ministry Of Sound, Exit Records, Sony Columbia, Shogun Audio, Subtitles UK, Sunday Best, Fabric Records and more. He has credits to his name for mastering & mixing, producing for pop artists, consulting, making & arranging music for various designers at London Fashion Week, scoring for short films and TV, sound design, voice-overs, creating radio jingles and adverts to mention a few.
A selection of Mark’s Drum ‘n’ Bass is lined up for labels Digital Soundboy and other outlets under his production pseudonym “Mark System”

Code’s Subtleaudio label keeps on going from strength to strength and to prove the point he’s just released the long awaited volume 2 album. With more tunes than you can shake a stick at spread over 2 vinyl & 3 CD’s (as well as MP3′s) there’s definitely something for everyone. For more details on the release I’ll let Code explain it for himself…

I’m very happy to announce that the second instalment of the Subtle Audio compilation series is here and available to order right now from www.subtleaudiorecordings.com/shop ahead of the general release through ST Holdings on Dec 6th (Vinyl) and Jan 24th 2011 (CD).

This edition features a broader scope in the quantity and variety of music on offer than the first installment, while maintaining the high standard of quality (in our opinion!).

In all there are 36 previously unreleased tracks spread across a range of formats – 2×12″ Vinyl, a 3xCD and a bonus download package (mp3 or FLAC). That’s not to mention another 16 tracks in a round up of back-catalogue and forthcoming Subtle Audio releases on disc 3 of the CD version !

… we have spared no expense or effort in putting this project together – it took over 2 years to collect the right tracks for the compilation and then even after that a considerable amount of time went on working out the running order, getting the mastering done (thanks to Beau Thomas for the Vinyl and Macc for the CD masters!), putting together the mix CD and getting the artwork finalised (thanks again Louisa!). I hope these efforts have helped to create a durable and collectable piece of work.

Your support for the release, in any form, would be much appreciated – Subtle Audio will be here as long as you want to listen.

With releases from the likes of Alpha Omega, Selini, Fracture & Neptune, Polska and Equinox it’s safe to say mission accomplished so far. But Code isn’t about to quit yet and with that in mind he’s preparing for the release of Subtle Audio volume 2. Click read more to find out in his own words what’s in store from his label and then head over to Soundcloud to check out some samples off the album.

Time for the 2nd instalment of the Subtle Audio compilation series !

There’s gonna be 26 tracks on 2 (unmixed) CD’s and the 3rd CD is mixed by myself. This is my answer to Andy C’s Nightlife series. I just need to hurry up and get to Subtle Audio Vol 5.

Predominantly D&B on the compilation of course but there are some other tempos on the unmixed CD aswell.
Also part of the project is a 5 track 2×12″ as well which features Irish producer Mecca’s debut on wax.
There are a lot of exciting new artists coming through at the moment and that’s reflected in the line-ups on both formats – but there are some familiar names featured to help carry things along.

Both formats should be available from the Subtle Audio site within the next fortnight or so and they’ll be getting distributed by ST Holdings a month or so later.

Of course, some of you may already have this as it has been available in the Subtle Audio Shop since May (there are still a few copies left).

“2nd Rate” comes on 2 CD’s with 20 tracks, a myriad of tempos and influences and a wide range of instrumentation. This is the resurrection of breakbeats and melody in a year when many have heralded minimalism as the way forward.

Play through the Youtube videos below to hear snippets of all the tracks from CD 1 & 2, or check the sounds in the Subtle Audio Shop or on the Subtle Audio Soundcloud page.
